Welcome to the homepage of Division of Neurobiology and Physiology, Department of Neuroscience, Graduate School of Medicine in Kyoto University. We conduct research and educational activity under the initiative of Professor Tadashi Isa, who had been a professor of the National Institute for Physiological Sciences (NIPS -- in Okazaki in Aichi Prefecture). The lab succeeded Professor Ermitus Harunori Ohmori since October 2015 at the 4th floor of Bldg. C of the Medical Faculty. The lab moved from NIPS in July 2016. Research in the lab is centered on the analysis of neural circuits involved in sensory-motor processing for dexterous hand movements and saccadic eye movements, and includes cognitive processes such as attention and decision making, and functional recovery after brain and spinal cord injury. The lab combines various technical approaches. In particular, we are devoted to the development and application of pathway-selective manipulation technique with viral vectors in primates to solve address fundamental questions involving the neural pathways above.
